The nodules measure between 0.5 - 0.91 inch in length (1.5 and 2.3 cm).

Amber drops, or nodules (5-7% of all mined Baltic amber) are the overdose of tree resins that broke away from the streams, which used to flow through icicles and trunk. Drops can form different sizes and shapes. Their structure is usually deformed. Drops flattened by falling are most frequently found (about 30 %). Regular shape drops are very rare – they could be formed when resins flowed from slits of wood or when they fell into the water.
When being mined, the drops have greyish crust which is removed my cleaning and slight polishing. They then get smoother and more pleasant and comfortable to wear on skin. The color varies from bright honey to caramel and yolk. After cleaning and polishing the transparent drops get shiny look while opaque drops remind of candies. The surface is smooth, but irregular. The shape sometimes remind of the one of a walnut.

Our drops were not treated in any way except for polishing. They would be therefore a great treat for those looking for amber for healing or spiritual purposes.
